I bet these were checks were conducted through an online instant results backgroudnd check company. People do not seem to understand that there is no such thing as an adequate background check online. The only way to perform an accurate up to date 100% FCRA compliant background check is at the county level. I would take a guess that these people used intelicrap or some other online database touting accurate criminal records. Even state kept repositories, Texas among the notorious, are grossly erroneous as to having a complete or accurate criminal data. If you want a true background check you need a skilled private investigator preferably state licensed (for accountability) to conduct the background check at the county level, and only after doing a preliminary investigation as to the applicants where abouts during the previous 7-10 years. Anything else is just like giving money away.
