Define "[Guitar Hero] sells very well". Do you think that is sells well enough that people are going to be downloading billions of songs, since that is what it will take to compete with iTunes? As a platform I am sure that it could work, but it's not going to be more than a niche one simply for the reason that it's tied to a video game. Now, a Guitar Hero store that allows you to download tracks without needing to actually have the game, that would different - the availability across platforms and a recognised brand name could work.

The problem is, is that usually when a show says "don't try this at home, it's because they're having experts do in under controlled circumstances." This clip just showed kids goofing off in their homes and said don't try at home. Not because they feared the experiment wouldn't be replicated properly, but merely as an insurance measure. The clip tries to have it both ways.
