Lewie, I was referring to the years 1945-1980. Those are the years some of the worst legislation in the history of the country was written, worst, that is, unless one loves government meddling in private lives. That's when the slide downhill began. It's gone so far now that I believable it is unstoppable since our Senate is broken, our House of Representatives is broken, the Justice Department is broken, the CIA and FBI are broken. When elected officials, no matter who they are, become jaded they have a tendency to also slip into the mud where they wallow around for at least 3 decades, all the while damaging us with their infernal useless "laws". The only time I feel truly safe is when the Senate gets mad and stays home. Gridlock is our salvation from the tyranny of overzealous money grabbers - those we elect to "do the nation's business". More gridlock, please, more gridlock!

I agree 100%. When I go to remote areas of the Rocky Mountains to hike, climb, etc.. I see trash, signs of our destroying this world are everywhere. There are reasons for us to clean up our act but I really think the whole global warming scare is a heap of *****, and if anything is just creating more trash.
