The Online Car Design Schools course covers both traditional and modern techniques used in transportation design.

The knowledge and understanding of the one is always helpfull in using the other. If you don´t have any experience with either, it would be efficient to use the latest technologies, but you do need an understanding of the traditional methods.

It is essential for participants to understand that, although it is easier for this course to use illustration software on modern computers combined with an art tablet, some people have problems coordinatingthe eye and hand movement. Generally we found that after a day of practice, most problems were solved, but we still feel we need to extend this caution.

For those people, sticking to the traditional techniques are, at the moment, the only options, which would mean they would have to scan in their artwork for submission, which means they would need a scanner too.

Minimal:

• Simple Ballpont Pen
• Lead Pencils HB, B, 2H
• Colored Pencils, Hard for thin sketches, softer for gradating
• Markers, we prefer AD, Too and Speedry Markers

Optional:

• Straight edge, Ruler, Compass
• Ships Curves (to draw tight curves over sketched ones)
• Ellipse tempates (Alvin full set small and medium)
• PC or Mac computer
• Adobe Photoshop
• Corel Painter
• Wacom Tablet
• Scanner
• Autodesk Alias Studiostools (or any other 3D software)
