PROGRAM

The Online Design School is set up based on the very efficiency that modern day technology offers combined with the artistic techniques that have established themselves through the years within the automotive industry. As you read this you are obviously connected to the Internet, and this is the very foundation of our program. By communicating to our participants directly via the comforts of their own e-mail service, we will provide extensive lessons on the subject of Car Design. These lessons are personally made by Cornelis Steenstra, founder and CEO of FORESEE car Design, supervised by tuition specialists specially assigned to this project, and are based on not only the training he received at the Royal College of Art in London, but also, and more importantly, on the wealth of experience Mr. Steenstra has gained working in the highly competitive automotive design field. Practical experience, ranging from art materials and their varying techniques as they are used by different designers world wide, through the use of perspective and drama in illustrations, form and function analyses, model building, surface evaluation, engineering and production principles, market analyses and evaluation through to future concept finding and adapting the latest technologies to your advantage.

LESSONS

The course consists of an initial set of 9 lessons that are sent to the participants e-mail address of choice. The timing is completely up to the individual participant. Following each of these lessons, the participant is requested to submit artwork that was created based on the information given. This, again, the participant can create at his own convenience when and where time permits. Mr. Steenstra will personally review the submitted work, give his advice and criticism and, if necessary even create artwork in response, showing where and how the work can be improved.

TALENT

Obviously, to successfully participate, a certain amount of talent is needed. After all, a designer is required to sell his ideas as convincingly as possible, amidst fierce compassion, to upper management, in order for them to actually develop the design further, possibly even through to production. It does not matter how a design is presented, it should sell in order to be considered. A successful participant should therefore be able to clearly illustrate or demonstrate the merits of the design concept. It is not necessarily the prettiest picture that has the best design, but that is what gets chosen initially.

PREREQUISITES

Since the tuition is online, we do require our participants to have either 2D Drawing software and tablet installed on their computer, or have a scanner connected with which they can scan their own artwork for submission. COST

We are very serious in our approach to this Online Design School, and realize the valuable time Mr. Steenstra is making available for it. We expect this same kind of dedication from our participants. Only with motivation and dedication can a goal be successfully reached. To filter through the initial crop, we have decided to charge US$ 900.- for the 9 lessons, including Mr. Steenstra´s personal evaluation of the submitted artwork. The first lesson can be ordered separately as a trial lesson, at US$ 100.- . This we have done to make sure that both the participant and ourselves feel that there is no money wasted. If the participant does not feel up to the task, there is no reason to spend an extra US$ 800.- . In the same way, if Mr. Steenstra feels that, after reviewing the participants first submitted artwork, a continuation would not be recommended, he will advice the participant accordingly.
